I was delighted to return to sunny Deauville for this years first yearling sale.
The catalogue as to be expected for this select sale was impeccably strong with some of France and Europes best pedigrees and stallions on display.
Myself and Brian Meehan saw the majority of the horses in the sale and may have started with expensive taste as our list for Day 1 averaged at £200,000.
It is always good to see the 1st season sires on display, Saxon Warrior was one that really caught the eye there were some lovely horses by him there and I would expect the best still to come in October.
We struck late on Monday with another 1st season sire in Sioux Nation a Group 1 winner and high class two year old. He was a very strong good moving individual that fit the profile we were looking for of a fast early looking sort. He cost 77,000euros which we hope will look like good value in 12 months time.
