We were very happy with Isaac Shelby dropping back to 7f and dropping down in grade. It was always going to be a tough task to get pass Kinross, a seasoned veteran and a horse that has fantastic form at Goodwood including winning The Lennox and being placed. We were really happy with where we are with Isaac Shelby and it was great for him to put in such a big performance for his new owners with the relation to Qatar being the sponsors of Glorious Goodwood.
Our other Group 2 performer was Toca Madera who was third and has now been placed in two Group 2’s in his last two starts. He definitely was caught out by the ground as he travelled so well into the race and looked the winner if he was to handle the ground but when push came to shove he found it very testing which it was for many horses in that race. I think the winner looks very special and I don’t think a Group 2 is out of the question for our horse by the end of the year.
